Hello,

I resigned from my previous organization in the first week of March and served a 3-month notice period. However, the organization didn't provide me with any clarity on when they would release me until the last day of May. Despite handing over my IT assets and clearing dues, they never specified a date. Eventually, I decided to leave after sending emails to all relevant authorities.

Now, after 2 months, the company has sent me an Absconding letter, threatening me with disciplinary action. I would like to know if this is fair, and if not, what actions I should take.

Regards,
DS

Dear DS,

Considering what you have narrated, it isn't fair on the organization's front to send you an absconding letter. Whom did you send your resignation to? Did you go speak to your seniors and HR post-resignation? Who facilitated your handover formalities, and did you submit a copy of the clearance certificate to HR?

Hi,

I hope you have all the documents, including emails informing the company of your resignation, notice period (start and end dates), and also the salary slips for the notice period served. If yes, you can keep them as evidence in case the company threatens or sends any legal notice (it might not go beyond that as they will be in a soup). For now, just try to act calm and inform them that you had given them the required notice and served to the best of your ability. Request them to provide you with the necessary experience and relieving letter and thank them for the opportunity. Remember to note down the dates of resignation, notice start and end dates, etc., to use them later if the situation arises.

Stay calm and move forward.

Thanks and Regards
