As per EPFO circular dated 3rd November 2017, the EPFO has stated that for the continuance of the drawal of a pension under the Employees' Pension Scheme, 1995, the Jeevan Parmaan for the existing pensioners has to be uploaded afresh through the mobile app "UMANG" from 1st November 2017, in addition to the existing provisions for online uploading. EPFO has directed that Aadhaar seeding in respect of such members has to be completed at the earliest in a time-bound manner for which online facility is available on the EPFO portal. EPFO has stated that the facility in the mobile app "UMANG" will be made available shortly.

Dear sirs,
I am a retired employee. I took VRS in September 1996 at the age of 39 years in APSRTC and received a pension of Rs. 666 under the EPS 95 scheme initially, which was later increased to Rs. 720. I have learned that the Government has mandated a minimum pension of Rs. 1000 for all pensioners. However, I am still receiving Rs. 720.
Kindly provide guidance on how to address this issue.

Dear Sir,
It appears that you have been availing pension after attaining 50 years. Consequently, your pension amount is reduced by 3% for the shortfall in 58 years, i.e., less by 24%.
Anyway, with the documents, you may check with EPFO to get more clarity on the matter.

He now wants to merge his old EPS account with his current EPF account. Could you please guide us on the procedure for the transfer?

Dear Sanjeev,
Previous EPS Account/Scheme Certificate cannot be merged with his present EPF Account. EPF/EPS are different. The employee already has a "Scheme Certificate" from his previous employment. Please review the relevant Scheme Certificate for clarity. It has to be surrendered to the present EPF Office with a covering letter furnishing his present UAN #, EPS #, and other relevant details. Acknowledgement should be obtained and preserved because the PF Department has a history of misplacing documents.
