Hi Everyone,

Greetings!

I have been searching for effective employee engagement activities on CITE HR for the past few weeks. I have read almost every post related to it and have gathered many ideas such as picnics, movies, cricket, meetings with senior management, games, awards and recognition, and birthdays and anniversary celebrations. However, my main concern is that in my organization, even if I plan all of the above-mentioned activities, employees do not interact and do not participate voluntarily. We have to approach them individually and persuade them to join.

Our audience is mostly introverted, and out of 50 employees, only a few are interactive. In such cases, what can we do to create a more interactive environment? What innovative and effective strategies can we implement to encourage greater participation?

Sometimes, I feel helpless when our audience/employee pool behaves this way. What actions can we take from our end?

I am working as a Senior HR professional in a Hydro Power Company.

Please share your suggestions.

Employee engagement is a very important activity in the organization because fun and change are necessary for the employees, and it also helps in team building, creating a sense of belonging towards the company, and motivating the employees of the organization.

1. Divide all the employees into different groups according to your preference or department-wise.
2. You can conduct these employee engagement activities in your organization:
- Games: Cricket, football, puzzle-solving, chess.
3. Creative Activities: Painting competition, Rangoli Competition, collage competition, one thing change day, Fun board, Baby picture chart.
- One thing change day: Employees are asked to make one noticeable change in themselves, such as their greeting style, dress, or hairstyle.
- Fun Board: Employees can write or pin up anything on the board like colleagues' pictures, funny comments, pictures/posters, funny news, good thoughts, paintings, drawings, etc.
- Baby Pictures chart: You can conduct this activity by department or team. Ask all employees to bring one of their childhood/baby pictures. Paste all the pictures on the chart and conduct voting for the cutest baby. Once the voting is done, display the baby pictures on the board along with adult pictures.
4. Celebrate birthdays and anniversaries.
5. Celebrate different days in the office - national days, Mother's day, Women's day, casual dress day, color day (on this day, employees will come dressed in a specific color).
