Dear All,
I am planning to make an annual budget for employee engagement activities such as festive celebrations, games, lunch, picnic, etc. If anyone has any ideas or sample templates, please share them with us.
Thanks

Please understand that Employee Engagement is totally different from engaging employees in some socio-cultural events. Employee engagement is an HR intervention strategy for enhancing the enthusiasm and feeling for the job in the organization. The activities mentioned are useful and could be used, but the underlying theme is the integration of employees into the organization.

If your organization has a problem with "employee engagement," then you need to investigate the reasons for that first.
Just thinking you can get the staff to play some games and have a party will solve all your ills is the height of stupidity. No amount of money will fix the problem if you don't solve the root cause.
I don't know about India, but around the world, most employees dislike these sorts of activities. Forced jollity doesn't work. I know in my own case, I always arranged to be sick on the days my employers decided to do these sorts of things under the guise of team-building, interdepartmental cooperation, etc. Many of my colleagues did also. Management soon learned not to do it.

Employee engagement and fun activities are totally two different things. Employee engagement is a broad term. Many more organizations do this activity regularly!
You need to have clarity about what you want to do. First of all, you need to ask yourself why you (as an organization) want to do it. Thought clarity on paper will give you more inputs, and thus you will be in a position to make a decision. It's not like management decided we want to do it, and so we have done it without having any plan and implementation strategy; it will be a sheer waste of time, money, and various other resources.
All the best!
