Hi all,
I have planned to attend a 2-day workshop on "Certified Learning and Development Manager." Will this help me find a job? I have 6 years of sales experience in selling various training programs PAN India. I prefer to transition from sales to learning and development. I am wondering if the certification will be beneficial in making this career move.
Thank you.

No. Who will certify you and who has certified that person or company to certify anyone? There is '0' value for these so-called certifications. It's a waste of money, time, and energy. There is no value in these certificate providers in any industry. It's just an individual's mindset who feels satisfied by having a printed piece of paper called a Certificate. Do not fall into this trap.

I think you are referring to the Middle Earth's Certification Program. It is a good value add, as per the feedback of some of the participants I know who have attended it.
Certifications do help to upgrade your knowledge and skills, but there is no guarantee that they will help you to fetch a job. Training is a skill-based industry, and most of the employers who will hire you will ask for a round where you need to give a demo of your facilitation skills. So, go ahead with the certification and side by side upgrade your knowledge and skills. See if you can gain some training experience in an NGO or another organization that you can showcase in your profile.

In western countries, certification will play a key role in getting opportunities. The concept of certification is slowly growing in India. It is always good and adds value to your profile if you have certification. One thing to make sure of is that the certification should be from a well-known organization.
You can start inquiring about different certifications offered by companies and keep on doing trainings initially. Slowly, you can go for certification once you believe it's the right time. All the best.

Hi Venkat,
I recently obtained a certification (Master Trainer) from a leading American company, but I am facing challenges in implementing it within IT and ITES companies in India. It is important for the companies considering hiring you to understand the value this certification brings.
Having a certification can indeed add value, especially if you find yourself in the right company. Additionally, the entity that certifies you should provide accurate Learning & Development inputs and effective implementation methods.
