Dear Professionals,
I am a training consultant with an IT company. I need to deliver a session to a group of 20 recruiters on "How can talent be hired using social media?" I am seeking your guidance to conduct this program. Under this, I want to cover a few points:
1. Objectives
2. Names of different platforms that can be used as social media
3. How to use those platforms
4. Importance of social media
5. Can hiring costs be minimized by using social media?
Kindly add if you have some additional thoughts.

First thoughts - it depends on the positions/domains you recruit for, as well as on the strength of your network as a first point of contact and referrals. Any social network needs to be nurtured, which is why job portals are not going away any time soon.
I have a poll precisely on this subject at: Effectiveness of Job Ads on "Social Media" like LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, etc. with some interesting data so far. Everyone is requested to participate/share. Thanks

Hi Aakriti/Others on this thread,
Requesting all again to please participate as well as circulate the link to your contacts to make this a reliable survey. As of now, almost 50% of the respondents say they have NEVER applied to any job via any social media websites... I wonder what this says about their efficacy. If anyone here has access to some other data on the same subject, please do share!
The link is: http://mytopjob.in/r/poll And the latest snapshot on one question is provided below for your evaluation and conclusions. I'll be grateful for all participation.
