I work as an HR professional in an IT firm. I have been tasked with keeping track of employee personal traits that can be used during salary reviews. I am seeking suggestions on what needs to be tracked in such cases. The company is not looking for technical skills (as mentioned earlier, it's about personal traits). It would be helpful if I could receive guidance on how this information can be documented. Please share your suggestions.

Behavioral traits can include oral communication, written communication, teamwork, decisiveness, attendance, punctuality, customer orientation, and so on.
One thing to note in this context is how many marks you reserve for behavioral traits. Anything exceeding 20% would diminish the importance of technical skills. These behavioral traits are subjective, and opinions vary on how to rate them. There is a possibility of managers becoming biased when awarding marks. In an attempt to earn higher marks on these traits, subordinates may start ingratiating themselves with their managers. In certain government departments, only behavioral traits are evaluated, with no marks assigned for the KRAs. The drawback of this system is that it has led to widespread sycophancy within the organization. Therefore, please consider the negative aspects of behavioral traits as well.
