Hi,

As per our factory policy, 3 late arrivals and 2 permissions are allowed per month. If workers exceed this limit, how much should we deduct according to the Payment of Wages Act 1936?

As per the factory policy, we are required to deduct half a day's salary. However, is this legally correct? We are only following the TN Model Standing Order.

Please provide clarification. Thanks in advance.

As per our standing order, we allow 100 minutes late for every month. Over 100 minutes, i.e., suppose it is 120 minutes in a month, we deduct late of 200 minutes from his basic wage. Please clarify, is it correct as per law.
