Dear Mr. Gurgaon HR,
It's always a warm reception to HR group in joining the knowledge source. Somewhere there is a point that soupçon's me;
Why would you need any social networking site to be a platform for a consortium?
When CiteHR has thousands of "Real-time experienced seniors" what else is lacking?
If "Chat" has been only purpose to get along with the HR's, you may very well initiate the same. To a certain extent people will chat.
How to go about some working from office having FB as a blocked/restricted site?
Well, CiteHR has given platform for number of HR's to flourish in their career proliferate through their learning. As I'm not odious to any of this idea proposed by you, besides they are many who would be comfortable to this forum might get baffled by moving to another track and somehow I feel they loose the string that tightens the bond here.
Thanks...!!

Dear Sharmila Das,

Thanks for your comments. Creating the Facebook HRGang doesn't mean to divert people and instruct them not to use CiteHR. Everyone is aware of the usefulness of CiteHR, so my motto is not to divert but to connect them. We, as HR professionals, are not aware of other HR individuals and are not easily approachable. As you mentioned, Facebook is a blocked/restricted site in some offices, but to correct you, many people use Facebook through mobile devices and stay connected 24/7. The goal is not just to chat but to get to know other HR friends across the field and stay in touch with them. There may be a thousand reasons not to create this group, but I have only one reason to do so, and I did. Whether to appreciate or criticize, the choice is yours.

Dear Mr. Gurgaon HR,

Even before creating a Facebook page/account for HRs, there has been this HR assemblage "No one knows if a person is an HR or not." We bunch up together on this forum only for a purpose which we call knowledge sharing.

Regarding the point [FB through mobile and being in touch 24/7] -- while thousands of HR professionals have established their identities on this forum, what makes a difference in getting in touch with them on Facebook 24/7, even though CiteHR is accessible on your mobile with HRs available 24/7.

As I always said, I'm not odious to anybody's idea. If you create a group with the interest of knowing HR friends, "collect them." Also, please understand, NO ONE CRITICIZES HERE; THIS IS AN OPEN FORUM FOR OPINIONS. Please correct your last sentence.

This is to provoke thoughts, not to tantalize as such!

Let's be calm about this. Gurgaon HR, we already have a Facebook page where some of the members participate. While we encourage users to create their own local groups, we usually try to discourage promotions of non-local groups on the forum as it is often used as bait to collect email addresses and contact details. At Cite.Co, we don't care much about such personal details - our core goal is to help people learn about real-world issues. That is why our registration process only requires an email address for updates and the creation of a username.
