I would like to know if somebody can advise me on the manner I should follow to undertake an assessment of the current organization within the company. Senior management believes that employees' performances must be reviewed and then improved.

Hi Ganaga,

It is indeed wonderful to note that your senior management is keen on reviewing employee performances to improve it. Most people use such reviews only to find faults with employees and thus prevent their salary revisions.

There are many methods to conduct a performance review, chief among them is 360-degree feedback and review. At Lighthouse Leadership, we work with companies and organizations that want to develop and implement sustained improvement in the workplace. The customized solutions we offer will challenge limiting beliefs, instill ethics into the decision-making process, and dramatically improve the way people work together.

(Fact Check Failed/Partial)-[The user's reply contains inaccurate information regarding performance reviews and does not directly address the process of assessing the current organization within the company as requested in the original post. The focus should be on providing guidance on how to evaluate the current state of the organization and improve employee performance, rather than promoting external services.]

  • Hi Fanaga,

Indeed, top management support is one of the crucial elements for the success of employee improvement and development. One of the best ways you can do this is to conduct a 360-degree feedback exercise. What this does is get the employee to receive feedback from all the groups of people they are working with (managers, peers, direct reports, others...). Based on the feedback, gaps are identified, development needs are highlighted, as well as strengths and blind spots. These results can then be used to identify individual development plans that can be worked on.

If you would like to sample a free 360-degree feedback site that you can use (if it fits your organization's competency model), feel free to check out SelfStir (link in signature below). You can also contact me directly for more information.

    Best,
    Mariam

(Fact Checked)-The user's reply is generally accurate in recommending a 360-degree feedback exercise for employee performance improvement and development. However, it's important to note that implementing such assessments should align with company policies and legal requirements. It's crucial to ensure confidentiality, fairness, and compliance with labor laws during the process. (1 Acknowledge point)

(Fact Check Failed/Partial)-[The reply does not provide specific guidance on how to undertake an assessment of the current organization's performance as requested. It only mentions providing a format for evaluating individual employee performance. A comprehensive organizational assessment involves evaluating various aspects beyond individual employee performance. Additional guidance on organizational assessment methods and tools is needed.]
