Hi, I am Ratan. I joined IDBI Housing Loan Department in February 2008 and worked there until December 2008. From February 2008 to July 2008, I was at Intepro Consultancy, and from August 2008 to December 2008, I was at IDBI Intech Ltd. Can I get PF from both of these? Let me know.

Sir, my salary and my husband's salary are both below Rs. 10,000. The government has made it compulsory for every employee to have ESI, so they are deducting ESI from my husband's salary. However, my employer also wants to deduct the same from my salary since it has been made mandatory. I would like to request an exemption from this deduction as ESI is already being deducted from my husband's pay. Due to our low salaries and my role as a teacher in a school, I believe we should be exempted. How can I request this exemption, considering we already benefit from my husband's ESI coverage?

Solution by my side:

1. It's entirely dependent upon the employee whether she opts to retain her name before marriage or her name after marriage. (But if she has changed her name after marriage, she can put it. That will be a safer practice.)

2. The PF department will not ask for any certificate to prove the date of birth, but my advice is to provide any information that is backed by a legal document. (Though an employee can change her date of birth in her SSC certificate, it is a lengthy process.)

3. Only in cases when an employee does not have any family or parents, and in that case, until siblings are unmarried.

4. I do not think there is any option in Form-2 where you need to enter your previous employment's PF account details.

5. That employee needs to furnish Form-13 to the PF department.

Hope this will help you!

Mr. Barman,

Kindly note that in the file, there are some discrepancies:
- Form 5: Return of Employees Qualifying for Membership of PF - for new employees joining the PF account
- Form 10: Return of Employees Qualifying for Membership of PF - for employees being removed or their accounts being closed
Some forms are also missing.

Thanks,
Siva

Hey Barman,

It's great that your post received 4881 views and 57 replies in just 2 hours. People always gravitate towards good things immediately. I would appreciate it if you could address the points raised by Siva, and I also expect similar responses for ESI and contract labor.

Thanks
