Dear Seniors,

I am working as an Officer - HR & Admin, and I do not have in-depth knowledge about The Contract Labour Act of 1972. I recently encountered a problem where I was tasked with hiring a first-time contractor. I would like to understand the process of hiring a contractor and the necessary documentation and formalities that need to be completed.

Kindly advise me as soon as possible.

Thank you.

Thank you very much for your valuable reply. However, I believe the above record will need to be maintained through a contractor. I would like to understand the necessary steps. Firstly, if I need to hire a new contractor, should I inform the labor office or complete other legal formalities? Is it essential to register before hiring any contractor? Your guidance on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Anuj,

We are a Pune-based workforce leasing firm. Maybe we can help out in handling the contractual assignments you want to outsource to a contractor. It depends on the number of employees engaged through the contractor, as labor law states that you need to provide a labor license to the contractor if more than 20 personnel are engaged for any work.

We would be glad to understand your requirements and address the issue in an appropriate manner. We practice transparency and open communication when dealing with clients. Understanding and valuing the importance of time to our clients, our team will only commit when we can deliver.

Our goal is to deliver as per the client's requirements and hopefully establish long-term client relationships. You can drop us an email at the undersigned to take things further.
