Hi Seniors,
It's really nice to be connected with all my HR friends. I am currently in the midst of a job hunt. I was with Accenture for 2 years in collections and quit since I got admission for a regular MBA. After completing my MBA in HR, I worked with a leading MNC as an HR coordinator for close to 1.4 years. Since it was a contract role, I was paid very less, and I quit due to medical reasons a few months back.
Now that I am completely recovered, I have started my job hunt. However, I mostly get job offers for a recruiter position. I am really not interested in recruitment and am looking for a challenging role in core HR activities.
I am very confident in my qualifications and experience in an MNC that I can take up and complete any task. However, I don't receive many calls for a generalist role in HR.
Can anyone help me understand how I can get into the role I want? Can I take up the role as a recruiter and start learning things, even though my area of interest lies in a generalist role?
It has been almost 2 months now, and I am really confused about what to do next.
I am very clear that the role is important, followed by my salary, and then the company.
Seniors, I need your suggestions.

Greetings, I think currently you should join as HR-Recruiter & then go for a search in your interested role. May be this is your starting point.

I think currently you should work as HR-Recruiter. Recruitment is the first basic stage in HR. After getting an experience you can move for your interested role.

Hi Kadhia,
I think you should start your job first, and after that, you can enhance your knowledge through your job. You can begin your job as a recruiter in a company. Try to avoid consultancy because, based on your desired profile, you need to learn things from your colleagues or seniors within a company.
Best of luck for your future.

Thank you all for your reply, but I see most of them after getting into recruitment finding it difficult to move to other roles in HR. Or maybe they are not given the opportunity to explore the other HR functions. This is the only reason why I am unable to make a decision.

Dear Seniors,
Please guide me: I'm working with Industrial Services Co. My query is: As per the Minimum Wage Act, we are located in Zone I and have a Shop Act license too, but our workers are being contracted with a company located in Zone III.
As per statutory regulations, how should I calculate Minimum Wages? Please help.
Thanks,

Sir,
Our company is a pharmaceutical division. Our management has imposed a two 18(1) settlement between workmen. One part of the workmen are getting a salary with DA, while others are getting it without DA. Both workmen are doing the same work, but the salary structure is different. The workmen receiving DA are senior persons but are getting a lower salary than the other workmen by a difference of Rs. 3000. Both workmen have the same educational qualifications. We have discussed this issue with the management several times, but they have refused to provide the same salary. How can we legally resolve this problem? Please advise.
Thank you.

Hi,
As everyone has suggested, if you choose recruitment, you need to be stable in that department for at least a year and then look for a change. However, once you have experience in recruitment, companies will be more likely to hire you, preferably for recruitment. I suggest you wait until February and try your luck.
Starting from August until today, the market has been very low.
Register your account on a website like [LinkedIn](http://www.linkedin.com), the world's largest professional network. Here you can post your resume and mention the details in the cover letter. All the best.
