Hi,

With a little bit of worry in my mind (especially after reading the board manager's caution about new threads), I am posting this presentation as a new thread. I hope some of you will open it, read it, like or dislike it. Please do comment.

This presentation was made a while ago, and the source is Phil Cosby.

Regards,

Heard of Open Source Leader? You can read about it in Sangeeth Varghese's new book, OPEN SOURCE LEADER: The Future of Organizations and Leadership. It's a Penguin Books Publishing and has been a bestseller for the last 3 weeks. Their website reads...

An evolutionary change in the world of leadership has arrived.

In this era of increasing complexities, leadership is evolving faster than ever before. More forward-looking organizations are moving away from the traditional closed forms towards an Open Source Leader model, where people are nurtured across layers by opening unto them the power and authority associated with leadership. If organizations and leaders do not keep up with this evolution, they will be left in the lurch. But if they manage to keep pace, they will live another day, to tell the tale of their success.

Open Source Leader tells the story of such organizations that have managed to evolve ahead of their contemporaries. Sangeeth Varghese has woven together eight defining attributes that are most commonly observed in such organizations, helping them survive and thrive during the most challenging of times. In this book, entities as diverse as the Indian national cricket team, Wikipedia, BCG Consulting, and the Art of Living reveal their most closely held secrets of success. It draws together the wisdom gleaned from some of the greatest thought leaders across the world, as well as from multiple disciplines.

Open Source Leader will keep you ahead of the evolutionary curve, irrespective of whether you are leading a Fortune 500 corporation, a start-up, or a government institution. It will help you understand the future of leadership. Most importantly, it will help you keep your mind as well as your organization fertile enough to nurture leaders across layers. Those who embrace Open Source leadership are not only the winners of today but the survivors of tomorrow.

Dear Mr. Murthy,

I really appreciate your presentation and its contents as you have presented the right information. I do suggest that you enhance your presentation skills, especially in making the best use of PowerPoint, which will make you excel in your role.

I have developed a module on high-performance leadership emphasizing team building skills. In my opinion, a good manager is someone who can understand each team member's mentality and learn how to achieve goals while giving them enough autonomy to operate within their own strategies. This approach will help team members develop various skills and shape the managers of tomorrow.

A manager should never be selfish about their job. Managers of this kind will never achieve the best results.

Have a nice weekend.

With profound regards,
