Hi, I feel that sometimes it is better to give your team an insight into your previous experience so that they can utilize the information to ask you for help or guidance on any matters related to the previous experience.

Hello Absood,
Just go ahead and introduce yourself the way you feel most comfortable in. There's no hard and fast rule for such occasions. However, there surely is one thing you need to bear in mind: whatever you say, it has to come from the heart. You need to express what you feel and not repeat what others suggest like a parrot. People, in general, can catch you off guard when they realize you don't mean what you are saying—even though they may not express it outright. And I guess that's the surest way to ruin a new beginning.
All the best.
