Hi,

It's really a pleasure to see the HR community in Qatar. In fact, I didn't know that such a group existed. Anyways, I am so happy about it.

I am working as an HR in one of the trading and contracting companies here in Qatar. I have 2.5 years of experience, with my main focus being on recruitments. Currently, I have only 5 months of experience in Qatar. I have been tasked with setting up an HR system in this organization. Initially, I had no clue how to proceed, but when I searched on Citehr, I found many useful pieces of information.

Nevertheless, I would still seek the help of the Citehr members in Qatar for assistance in this matter. Your advice and information will be greatly appreciated.

Looking forward to a positive reply.

Regards,
Nisha

Dear Mr. Narendra,

I appreciate your speedy response. Since it's a local forum, I would like to know about the important labor laws, I mean something related to employees, salary, and other HR-related matters. If someone can help me in that regard, it would be really helpful.

Regards,
Nisha

Dear Ms. Nisha,

Quite resourceful information has been submitted by Mr. Narendra Nath. However, setting up an HR department is a step-by-step process, and it will take time. For this, you need senior management support in formulating various policies to support the organization's growth through employees' productivity.

Start with administrative activities where you need to prepare formats for various purposes. Once it's done, you can proceed further gradually. Kindly focus on streamlining effective recruitment procedures, an effective performance appraisal system, an effective employee grievance system, employee welfare activities, training and development for unleashing hidden talents/skills, succession planning to retain the best workforce, and more.

With profound regards
