Dear Cite Contribution,

Thanks for showing interest in DSVAP info thread. I am really pleased to see a comment from a Senior member & Super Moderator.

Well, DSVAP is Forscher's in-house research method, and two more methods are currently under research and will be launched soon.

Regarding your query, I have completed a project for an MNC engineering company in Mumbai, and the results were very positive. I would like to share that experience here. The company had the problem of "Low efficiency of the Group." Let's first start with the Pros:

1) In-depth Understanding: DSVAP analysis resulted in 98-100 issues the company needed to fix, while the company could only identify 4-5 issues before the analysis. There was a lot of understanding of the problem statement during the action plan's development for the solution.

2) Clarity in Roles: After listing and validating issues, it was clear who had to play what role in achieving the solution.

3) Streamlined Energy & Focus: The 98-100 issues were validated first by field tests, and then only valid issues were considered for further classification based on priority like high priority urgent issues, low priority issues, etc. This allowed the company to focus on high-priority, urgent issues that needed to be addressed first.

4) Aligning the team to a particular goal: After DSVAP analysis, everyone was clear about their role and actions, so the whole group was aligned on one path.

5) Saving Man-hours & Costs: No meetings were held until the list of high-priority issues was ready. Once the list was prepared, management held meetings to create an action plan for these issues. Previously, meetings were held to plan actions on 1-2 issues at a time and then for new issues.

6) Clarity in Communication: DSVAP breaks down statements to such a basic level of understanding that communication from higher management to employee-level becomes easy to comprehend in terms of messages and actions.

Cons:

1) Analysis Time: DSVAP analysis can take at least 3-5 days. The last project took 5 days.

2) Issue Priority: Issue priority can sometimes be confusing as it is difficult to determine if an issue is high priority or low. Generally, we decide based on its impact, but if someone mistakenly categorizes high priority issues as low, it might affect the effectiveness of the action plan.

Challenges:

1) Validating Issues: It can be challenging to validate issues in the field. For example, checking employee attitudes might be quite difficult, even if an issue logically suggests that efficiency could be affected due to employee attitudes.

2) Implementation Procedure: Companies may be reluctant to fix all issues if it involves additional costs, such as upgrading computers for better performance. They may choose to address only easy-to-fix issues like in-house employee training, which may not lead to a complete solution. Companies need to be prepared to invest a little for future benefits.

3) Implementation Time: Results won't be immediate. Achieving higher efficiency will take time, and all issues need to be resolved for a successful solution or goal. If employee skills need upgrading, the company must wait until training is successfully completed.

I hope this answers your query. Let me know if you have further questions. I assume you have reviewed the DSVAP info PPT and Quick Info Manual. Please share your feedback on them.
