Hi Shivali,
Congratulations and All the Best. To start, prepare an Employee Handbook (I have attached one sample - Courtesy to one fellow CiteHr ian). Do some opinion survey in the organization. Take the inputs from them and try to see what best you can do to answer them. Keep us posted. We will help you on your way to learning.

Thank you, Raghav, for being helpful with your valuable information. However, I couldn't find the employee handbook. Please, if you can attach it to me again.
I have started with the job description of the employees out there. The employees do not know that I am an HR. They think I am a student working on a project and hence were quite free in talking to me and discussing their matters as well as their profiles with me.
Please do keep me posted with any information that you can pass on to me. Thanks once again.

Hi Shivali,
That's good news. I have heard about HR professionals scratching their heads on how to make their employees feel free to approach them. You have a very good opportunity. Always make the employees feel that they are the boss. Be a people person. It will take you places. Regarding the handbook, I have already attached it in my previous post. If you can provide me with your email id, I will email it to you again.
All the best! :)
Keep in touch.

Hi Raghav,
Thank you for sharing the handbook. I have a question regarding setting up the HR function in an organization. Should the establishment of various processes and policies happen first before proceeding with the handbook?
I hope you understand my query. Please advise.
