Hi friends,

Can anybody share the same with me too? I am Manya, a new member of the team. Can anybody suggest certain HR policies for a medium-scale industry where setting up HR itself is a sensitive issue? The smoothly running and prospering company is now looking to set up an HR department and adapt new concepts for a more professional approach.

If anybody working in a similar field can share their experiences and provide guidelines to me, I would appreciate it.

I am reachable at manya25062003@yahoo.com.

Thank you.

Hi Roop,

Greetings!

I downloaded the attached document named as "Human Resources Management Guide for Information Technology Companies" some time back, not too sure from where, but I hope this will assist you in your assignment.

All the best!

Hello, I am new to the HR school. Though I did studies in management, I was wondering if any of you had HR policies you use in your organization that I can read through for ideas. It would be a lifeline. My email address is neriasebastien@gmail.com.

Since I am new to the forum, I am not yet familiarized with the setup, but I am getting there.

With regard to "Policies," can anyone comment on the policies when it comes to "Layoffs"? Maybe a large-scale lay off, how does an employer communicate this to employees in a positive way?

Thanks,
Ash

Hi,

The policies have to be framed depending upon the organization's vision and objectives. Here are a few points that can be included in the HR policy and defined according to industry standards to suit your needs:

1. Performance review process
2. Leave Policy
3. Recruitment Procedures
4. Employee benefits
5. Compensation and Benefits
6. Code of Ethics

I hope this may be of some use to you.

Cheers,
Radha

HI Can you please help me with this topic... different ways of doing refernce check of the candidate? your help will be appriciated regards farhin

    Acknowledge(0)
    Amend(0)

    Hi Frahin,

Usually, there are two types of reference checks that can be done:

    1) Telephonic conversation

    2) Sending an email for the required details

If I were given an option, I would have chosen the telephonic conversation to assess the candidate.

Initially, the parameters required for assessment are noted down, such as:

    a) Motivators

    b) Actual technical expertise

    c) Challenges with the candidate

    d) Response to non-preferred tasks/assignments, etc.

I presume that everybody in this field should be able to identify such parameters while speaking to the candidate's reporting authority or any of his senior colleagues.

You are always welcome for any kind of further clarifications.

    Regards,
    Abhi

    Hi Roop,

Actually, every company has its own policies which can be different from other companies. It depends on the responsibilities of your company. If your company started recently, you can't adopt the policies of others. You have to apply your own thoughts depending on your responsibilities and your company. Otherwise, please provide us with your company details.

    Hi Roop,

As per my knowledge, please find the drafted HR policy in a general way. You can amend it as per your requirements. First of all, you have to think about each and every policy so that it aligns with the organization's goals and employees' welfare.

In this context, you can draft the following policies:

Recruitment and Selection Policy: This will help reduce HR stress if you have competent employees in your organization.

Deputation: How can you assign the right person to the right job?

Motivation: It's a complex task for an HR professional to motivate employees to deliver their best. In this regard, you can draft a decent appraisal policy.

Retention: Above all, you need to create policies that encourage talented employees to stay within the organization for a longer period.

You can also create policies for leave, compensation, benefits, etc.

I hope this will give you some ideas. Please let me know if this is suitable for you.

    Hi HR Professionals,

I am working with a medium-sized pharma organization. I am a fresher working with the organization for the last year. I do complete my work, although I lack experience. For example, three days ago, I sent data to our Mumbai office. While I informed them via email, there has been no response. Should I be held responsible for the lack of response?

Secondly, if I fail to report or complete the assigned work, am I eligible for punishment?

Hi, can anyone help me out on suggested ways to prevent female employees from resigning after maternity leave? Can an employer demand that a female employee return to work after maternity leave? Is there a policy to handle this situation?

  • Dear Friends,

Can anyone share the sample of HR policies that are going to be adopted in our concern? The sample may be useful to develop how to frame the policies in our electronic industries.

If you have any ideas pertaining to HR policies, you can email me at chandra_mba05@rediff.com or ckpilotway@gmail.com.

I have been following this thread for a long time, and since I find that the downloads available on CiteHR have not been exploited, I've attached the file I procured from the same source.
    Hope it's useful.
