Navigating Relieving Letter Issues in Job Transition - CiteHR

Dear All, I had worked for 2 years in a company and quit. I then changed my domain and joined another company as an intern for a lesser stipend. During the internship, I received a better offer from a very good company with a decent salary. I informed the current company that I would be ending the internship, stating the original reason. However, they started harassing me for the relieving letter as I had only been with them for 2 months. They even demanded a large sum of money for the letter.

Dear friends, should I wait for their letter or should I talk to my new company about this? (In my new company, I have mentioned that I was with this current company). Please reply back as soon as possible.

Thanks, Ajit.

Handling HR Practices and Relieving Letters

This is a poor HR practice in your current company. Therefore, do not compromise by revealing the HR's stance to your new employer. If the new employer is convinced, you can join without a relieving letter. After joining, you can submit Form 13 for the transfer of PF, which will verify your service with the company.
