Hi, I hold a hotel management diploma and a master's degree in Tourism Management from IGNOU. However, I work in the BPO operations sector at the mid-management level. I want to transition to the Training and Development domain. I am planning to pursue further education. However, I am confused about whether to pursue an M.Phil in Tourism (correspondence) as I love exploring tourism or an MBA with an HR specialization (correspondence) to enhance my prospects of being in Training in the future, as I am passionate about training. Can any experienced senior guide me, please?

Hi Ravi,

I am a trainee and I am confused about whether to take on projects related to training and development or recruitment and selection. Can you advise me on which project would be more beneficial for me in the future?

With regards,
Rajshree

Dear Rajshree,

T&D is still an unexplored field. If you have the confidence in yourself, take T&D, and you will have a bright future. Moreover, in T&D alone, supply is less than demand. Hence, if you enrich yourself at this moment, the sky is the limit for you.

Dear Soumita,

My following reply to Rajshree will fit your question too. Think about it. Training and Development is still an unexplored field. If you have confidence in yourself, choose Training and Development, and you will have a bright future. Moreover, in Training and Development alone, supply is less than demand. Hence, if you enrich yourself at this moment, the sky is the limit for you.

Hi Rajashree, Definitely you should take projects on trg & dvp. There are lot of requirements and scope in that domain. If you any other doubts let me know. Regards, korgal_r at yahoo.com

Hi All, Thanks a ton for your responses. I'm looking into the eligibility and formalities of the T&D course on its site. In the meantime, I'm really worried about transitioning into the T&D domain as my experience in operations is much greater than in training. Employers seem to prefer offering me positions in operations, and moving to T&D is viewed with suspicion. I don't know how to proceed, and I have lost interest in operations. Any suggestions from seniors in this field are most welcome.

Soumita
