I need some guidance in the following issue -
We are planning to develop a software for our company (mid sized) which would integrate our HR functions - the modules would be Employee Management System( Maintaining complete info of employees), Payroll processing system Attendance and Performance appraisal Systems.
Now, can you please tell me what are the funtions which each of these modules practically do for the users. What are the uses of these modules? Are there any other modules which can be added for better functioning of HR processes?
Please guide me so that i candevelop the specifications requirement document.

Why are you just focussing onjust Attendance, Payroll, employee database and PMS.
When you are reconcilling your attendance with the software I believe it would be a good idea to take your leave management system onto the software. Every employee can be classified on the basis of his role and grade. This will govern his rights in the system. Every employee should be able to apply for leave and see his leave balances on the intranet.
Your need is of an HRIS. You develop it on your own or get it developed is your choice. There are also ERM solutions available that will take care of all HR activities in your organisation.
