Leave of absence is a normal and natural requirement of all human beings to deal with certain contingencies of life, and Management Trainees are no exception. The nature, quantum, and other conditions of leave are to be decided depending on the service rules applicable.

Management Trainee is basically a designation given to a normal employee who is joining from an MBA course. In alternate, they may be actual trainees. You have not specified which is applicable for your company.

If they are real trainees, you need to see that rules that are in your Standing Orders and follow them. If they are in the factory, minimum leave to be given is 1 day for every 20 days worked, which means 18 paid leave for a full calendar year of working. This is apart from weekly offs.

Dear Friend,

Hi,

Any person employed in any organization is an employee, irrespective of their designation. A Management Trainee is a fixed-term employee unless absorbed into the mainstream after successful completion of the notice period. Once absorbed, they become a regular employee. Therefore, a Management Trainee is eligible for leave, just like other employees.
