Hello Sir,

I have completed my MBA in HR through correspondence from a central university. I am currently working as a secretary in a good organization and am interested in transitioning to a career in HR. Could anyone please suggest the best possible way for me to enter the HR sector?

Thank you.

Have you explored the chances in your own company? They know your abilities/qualifications etc and this could help you in getting into HR in line with your newly acquired qualification.

The better option is to get the opportunity in the same organization. Looking to change the domain in different companies will be a bit difficult, but still, you can keep trying. At the same time, it's advisable to keep updating your skills to compete in the market.

Dear Meerasudha,

Just 10 days ago, I conducted a public workshop on "Developing Management Skills for Secretaries and Admin Staff" in Bangalore. In this workshop, I included the topic of "Career Planning." You could have attended this workshop. Please check the brochure of the workshop attached to this email.

There are a large number of secretaries and admin staff who are caught in a rut. They are unable to grow and need guidance on developing management skills or planning their careers. Hence, this workshop. Many of them have acquired extensive experience in their respective positions, and over time, their remuneration has also increased. Now, they cannot step down and take on a junior role in another function. Therefore, their high remuneration puts them at a disadvantage.

Please provide me with your contact details, and whenever this workshop happens, the training company that organized this workshop will send you the mailer.

Heading of your Post: Your post is not about pursuing an MBA through correspondence. Your post is about taking a new career path. Therefore, you should have given the heading of your post as "Change in Career from Office Secretary to HR," and you should have uploaded your post in "Career Progression."

Thanks,

Dinesh Divekar
