Sorry for being impolite. If you have no idea on how to attract students, then don't start a training institute now. Wait for some time, study the market, develop a business plan on your own, and venture into it. Experts can fine-tune your strategy, but the idea should come from you.

Dear Passionate,

My suggestion is to join a training company first as a trainer and understand the basics of being a trainer. A trainer is not just a person who teaches students, but requires far more capabilities. Anyone with less than 15 years of experience in training may struggle. It's a harsh reality but a fact.

Conduct a SWOT analysis on yourself to determine what you can teach and why. Why would anyone listen to you? What makes you unique? What sets you apart from the rest? What is your WOW factor? And most importantly, what is your own experience with the modules you intend to teach? Are you proficient in them yourself?

The market is saturated with self-proclaimed Soft Skills Trainers, Motivational Trainers, Life Coaches, and so on, but in reality, only a few truly belong there. Many start off well but quickly fade away. They often position themselves as freelancers and charge rates as low as Rs. 500/day, which is lower than the government-mandated minimum wage for laborers. A quick internet search for trainers will reveal more than you can imagine.

There is indeed a significant demand for training, but it needs to be met by quality trainers and content. Simply downloading PowerPoint presentations from the internet and reading them out to a small audience does not constitute effective training.

Training is a business like any other; you need to adhere to the same principles as you would for a manufacturing plant or an electronics franchise. Establish a strong foundation and then pursue it.

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Best regards,

Dear All,

First of all, I would like to thank each one of you for sparing your valuable time and responding to me. I think a brief about me would help.

I have over 9 years of experience with Wipro and 1.5 years with Infosys as a "Test Manager," specializing in Software Testing. Additionally, I have 3 years of experience as a trainer in Software Testing at a well-established training company. I have worked in the US, UK, and Australia with various clients such as Cisco, Nortel, and Telstra.
