The Central Government has released a draft 'Labour Code on Wages' for comments. This law proposes to amalgamate into a single Act the following existing labor legislations, namely:
i. The Minimum Wages Act, 1948
ii. The Payment of Wages Act, 1936
iii. The Payment of Bonus Act, 1965
iv. The Equal Remuneration Act, 1976
A copy of the draft 'Labour Code on Wages' is attached for discussion.
