There is no need to procure a sub-code under EPF for different states, but ESIC is compulsory to register/procure a sub-code for different states as well as district-wise also, due to the benefit of local employees' point of view.

Since employers and their IPs have unique identities nowadays, district-wise or state-wise registration is not necessary. Local persons can be attached to the local ESI Dispensary. Therefore, employer's registration in that area is not required.
