Dear All,

I am basically from Hyderabad and joined in Jaipur. I have signed a bond for 2 years on 24th September 2012. Now, I have resigned, citing a genuine reason that my father is sick and attached the medical records of my father. I have mentioned 3rd October 2013 as the last date. The HR has sent me an email regarding my bond to my personal email id, but I replied with an explanation of my father's illness and status. However, I have not received any response to my official email id to date.

Is my resignation deemed as accepted?

It is very common to have a service agreement signed these days to curb attrition. However, the viability of the bond will depend on various factors.

You mentioned signing a 2-year bond, so what are the consequences of breaking the bond? What are your dues if you leave before 2 years? What does the company owe you if they terminate you before 2 years? What does your separation policy entail?

Did they provide you with any training materials? Classroom or practical training? Before emailing your resignation, did you discuss it with your superior/manager/HR?
