Hi All,

I am an HR Executive working for a corporate. We have an opening for BE/BTech freshers. As the campus recruitment season is on, I need to conduct interviews in colleges. Kindly let me know what are the main points to be explained about a company to the students and also what is the interview process to be conducted.

Please find the below.

Start with a smiley face. If the colleges have projectors, then explain your company details, I mean business and the scope of your company!

1. Conduct the aptitude test initially.
2. Technical round of interview.
3. HR round of interview.

If you want more information, please attend a campus drive where people are conducting interviews!

Dear Anonymous,

I have been a part of campus recruitment from both perspectives - as a college student seeking a job and during my internship offering positions to BE/BTech students. I will address your query based on my personal experience.

"Kindly let me know what are the main points to be explained about a company to the students?"

Usually, the campus recruitment drive begins with a brief introduction to the company and a pre-placement talk. Considering that most students have access to information online, it is crucial to be selective about the content included in your presentation. Based on my experience, I recommend the following in your PowerPoint presentation:

- A brief introduction about the company, including its mission, vision, milestones, etc.
- Organizational chart: This provides an overview of the hierarchy within the company and offers insight into potential career growth opportunities. Ensure to cover key personnel such as the CEO, Chairman, and Managing Director by introducing them or including their names.
- Information about the services or products offered.

Next, focus on the specific position for which you are hiring and provide details about the job role. Highlight potential career growth opportunities, especially if there are plans for employees to sign service agreements for a couple of years. Discuss remuneration and future growth prospects.

Following your presentation, allow students to ask questions and provide detailed answers. Then, proceed to the selection process.

"And also, what are the interview processes to be conducted?"

Assess the number of students you need to evaluate and tailor your selection process accordingly. Typically, the process involves the following stages as filtering rounds:

- Aptitude Test
- Simulation Test (conducted if a significant number of students pass the aptitude test)
- Group Discussion (may vary based on factors such as the number of profiles to assess, time constraints, job requirements, etc.)
- Personal Interview 1 - Technical (conducted by department heads to assess the applicant's knowledge base)
- Personal Interview 2 - HR (focuses on evaluating the employee's fit, especially in terms of cultural alignment)

I hope this information is helpful.

Hi,

First, you have to give a brief seminar to the students about your company, branches, and business (using PPT). Then, you can proceed to the Aptitude test, followed by a Group Discussion (optional), and then a Face-to-Face (F2F) interview with HR, and finally, move on to the Technical round.

Main points about the Company:
- Founder and startup
- Values
- Standard in the industry
- Turnover (financial)
- Branches
- Business

Please ensure to cover these aspects during your presentation.

Thank you.

Dear Durga,

I have a few tips for your query. Please feel free to call me on 94814 27154. What type of IT company is yours? Is it product-based, services, or ITeS? Please mail details to paajakacs@gmail.com.

Income tax is calculated on the CTC or total earnings of the person.

Up to 2.1 lac - Tax exempted

2.1 to 5 lac - 10% tax + 0.33% cess i.e. 10.33%

5 to 8 lac - 20% tax + 0.33% cess i.e. 20.33%

Above 8 lacs - 30% tax + 0.33% cess i.e. 30.33%

For example, if your CTC is 2 lac, then no tax is applicable. Similarly, if your CTC is 10 lacs, you would compute as follows:

0 - 2.1 lac = 0.21 lacs at a rate of 0% ------------------- 0,00,000

2.1 - 5 lac = 2.9 lacs at a rate of 10.33% ------------- 0,29,975

5 - 8 lac = 3 lacs at a rate of 20.33% -------------- 0,60,990

Above 8 lacs = 2 lacs at a rate of 30.33% ----------- 0,60,660

Total Tax------------------------------------------------------------- 1,51,625

That would be the tax that you'd pay for the year when your income was 10 lacs.

Regarding TDS:

Whatever the annual tax amount is, when divided by 12 (12 months), you get TDS.

In the above case (for 10 lacs), the TDS would be 1,51,625 / 12 ---------- 12635.416666 rounded off to 12636

I hope the question on the criteria to calculate Income Tax was answered.
