Hi all,
I received an experience letter from my former company detailing my years of experience and designation. They mentioned that I was absconding and therefore relieved from services of the organization. According to the company policy, an employee must serve a 30-day notice period, which I did not serve, resulting in the deduction of the shortfall amount.
I am currently working in a different company on a contract basis, and they have not raised any issues regarding this certificate. Please advise if this certificate holds value and whether it could potentially create serious career implications.

The certificate which you have received from your previous company is just for the sake of acknowledgement that your company has released you from your previous job, which won't create any impact on your career. Rest assured, but I would also like to suggest that you don't repeat this same mistake again; otherwise, you will have to bear the consequences. Further.

I have been with this company as a contract employee for more than 17 months, and just recently, they have asked me to submit all my documents. Is it because of my absconding certificate that they are delaying it? I am still confused about my future.

First and foremost, having an absconding certificate is not a good thing. I am not sure why our HR fraternity members have been telling you that you should not worry. When you are being removed from a job because you were absconding, it means you have run away from your responsibilities. It does not reflect well on your profile at all. Even if you gave notice of resignation but did not complete the notice period, you have effectively broken the trust and discipline of the company.
If you have submitted the same to your present company, it is bound to create doubt in their minds about confirming you as an on-roll employee. Try to have an open dialogue with the HR of your present company to settle any doubts they might have.
And if possible, avoid presenting this letter when you join a company. It is better to not have a reference letter than to have one that gives a negative reference.

I wanted immediate relief from my ex-company because of health reasons, that's why I paid the shortfall amount and quit the company. Moreover, I was in that company for 3 years.
I do not know how to avoid presenting this experience certificate in my future interviews. Now I feel like a criminal by having this type of experience letter. Seriously, I am very much worried now about my career. I will attach my experience certificate if you want to see it.
