In India, we have only three (3) National Holidays:
1. Republic Day (Jan-26)
2. Independence Day (Aug-15)
3. Gandhi Jayanthi (Oct-2).
Other holidays are known as Festival Holidays, which vary from state to state and district to district.
In the case of any emergency (such as the death of National Leaders and Election Leave falling under the Negotiable Instruments Act), these are also considered as Paid Holidays.
