Dear Shweta,
CL stands for Casual Leave. It is given based on the company's norms and regulations. In our manufacturing organization, CL is given as 9 days per year on a pro-rata basis depending on the number of days worked by an employee in the previous year. CL lapses at the end of every calendar year.
SL stands for Sick Leave. It is also granted based on the company's norms and regulations. In our manufacturing organization, SL is allocated as 8 days per year on a pro-rata basis according to the number of days worked by an employee in the previous year. SL can be carried forward if there are any days left for the next calendar year.
PL stands for Privilege Leave. It is also known as EL (Earned Leave) in some companies. PL is provided based on the company's norms and regulations. In our manufacturing organization, PL is given as 30 days per year on a pro-rata basis depending on the number of days worked by an employee in the previous year. PL exceeding 90 days is encashed in our company. Any PL remaining in the current year is carried forward to the next year.
Remember: All leaves are granted on a calendar year.
Thank you.

Thank you to everyone.
Could you please clarify the formula for PL? For instance, if the total working days are 30 and an employee works all 30 days in a month, according to the formula provided by Amit, it would be calculated as 30/30 = 1 PL or EL. However, if an employee only works 20 days in a month, then the calculation would be 30/20 = 1.5 PL or EL. This implies that if an employee takes no leave, they would only be entitled to 1 day of leave. Conversely, if the employee works 20 days, they would be entitled to 1.5 days of leave.
Could you please provide more details on this?

Hi,
I would like to differentiate PL and EL.
PL is privileged leave given in advance on a prorata basis from the date of joining to the last date of the calendar year.
EL is earned leave, which means leaves earned in a year on a prorata basis from the date of joining get credited at the beginning of the next calendar year.
Usually, it is calculated as 1 day of PL or EL for every 20 days, i.e., 365(days) - 52 Sundays - national and festival holidays... it will come as 15 days, which is standard.
