Leave as per the Shops Act or Factories Act, as the case may be, will be the same for all kinds of employees. It is true that the on-roll employees of the company may get additional leave as per their service conditions. However, the leave given to the off-roll employees can never be less than what is provided for factories, shops, etc., under the respective Acts. If you are working in an establishment that is not a factory, then you should be given 12 days of casual leave, 12 days of sick leave, and after the completion of 12 months of service, 12 days of privileged leave.

The Company provides all employees with a chance to take leave if necessary or compensates those employees who have worked for the company continuously for a certain period. Based on the different natures of Leave, the company establishes regulations to govern leave on a fair and reasonable basis.
The Leave Request Form is used to request the following Leaves:
- Annual Leave or Annual Vacation Annual Holiday
- Personal Leave or Private Leave
- Sick Leave
- Compensation off or Compensatory Leave
- Maternity Leave
- Wedding Leave
- Funeral Leave
- Military Leave
- Official Leave, etc.
- Others – depends on countrywide.
II. Procedures
Normally, the employee prepares and submits the Leave Request. If circumstances do not permit this procedure, his supervisor can prepare it on his behalf, but with his acknowledgment. The Leave Request is an important document affecting pay and allowance, so it must be filled out properly and completely.
The Leave Request is submitted through the employee's supervisor to his Department Manager for approval. HR should ensure that the requested leave has been earned or is per regulations. The department secretary is responsible for checking leave records and regulations.
III. Special Condition
Occasionally, circumstances such as sudden illness or other emergency, or delays in processing a Leave Request, may compel an employee to take leave before full approval of the Leave Request. The employee should fill out the Leave Request for approval within 2 days when he/she comes back to work.
Before the Leave Request is approved, if the leave taken is subsequently determined to be unearned or unapproved, leave taken will be charged to Leave Without Pay or Absent Without Leave.
