I have a serious question.

What is the meaning of Group Insurance Policy? In case of sudden death (e.g., cardiac arrest), do the family members get the said money?

Following are a few clips from our HR:-

This gives me immense pleasure in announcing that we are going to start a Group Insurance policy for our valued employees.

The benefit is for 24 hours of the day and valid all over the world. The Sum Assured will be 20 times the monthly salary or Rs 5 lakhs, whichever is more. You are requested to furnish the details (attached with this mail) ASAP.

Now, in case of a sudden death (cardiac arrest) of an employee, are they entitled to the amount?

If not, what is the reason?
