You cannot take advantage of such a situation. Therefore, if you could not attend to duty due to any reason, the day should be marked as leave. If the reason for taking leave is genuine, like what happened in the instant case (i.e., heavy rain and cancellation of public transport), you can request the management to convert the LOP to CL or PL depending upon the availability of leave.

Dear Sir,

If our branch office is closing and the company has placed us on a contract, and we have been working for less than 8 years in the contractor company, now that the company is closing and the contractor has given us a 1-month notice on 26/2/2016 that the office will close on 31/3/2016, in this situation, what benefits can we, as employees, receive from the contractor? Can the contractor remove us by giving a 1-month notice, or does he have to give a 3-month notice or pay us an extra month's salary? Please provide me with details. Thank you.
