Many of you on CiteHR are already aware of my stance on team building and employee bonding activities. In all the places I've worked, I've made it a point to be absent whenever such events were organized, often using sick leave as my excuse. The only activities I ever participated in were staff lunches, which provided a comfortable and relaxed environment for all employees.
