Many of you on CiteHR know my views on these sorts of activities. Whenever they came up at places I worked at, I always made sure I was absent on sick leave those days. The only event I would ever participate in were lunches for the staff, where it was a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere for all members of staff.
But like Covid19 or the Flu, they just never go away, and overzealous Mangers and HR departments keep organising them and then wonder why nothing changes. C'est la vie as they say.
However, for those of you who think the are be and end all to solving employee problems, here's some thoughts.
