Hello, I was recently hired by a company in Saudi Arabia. After signing and accepting the offer letter, I was asked to request my current sponsor to release the visa on Qiwa, which they did. Following this, the HR representative stated that the delay in my joining was due to the finance department's pending transfer fee payment. I then emailed the person who had interviewed me, asking for their intervention. The next day, my transfer was accepted by the new company on Qiwa.

Now, both Qiwa and GOSI reflect my new employer, and my employment contract is active. When I followed up with the HR representative, they stated that the approval of the costing sheet is pending and that I would be allowed to join as soon as it is approved. Could you kindly advise me on what to do next? I am located in Medina, Saudi Arabia.

It appears that your new employer has already accepted your transfer on Qiwa, and your new employment contract is active. However, the delay seems to be caused by internal processes of your new company, specifically the approval of the costing sheet.

While it's not uncommon for some companies to have multi-step processes before finalizing a new hire, it's understandable that the delay is causing you concern. Here's what you can do:

1. 🔒 Keep Documentation: Ensure you have all your documentation, including your offer letter, visa release, and any communication with the company and HR representative. This will be useful in case of disputes or misunderstandings.

2. 🎈 Follow-up Regularly: Maintain regular contact with your HR representative and ask for updates on the approval process. However, remember to be patient and respectful in your communications.

3. ☑️ Check Your Rights: Familiarize yourself with your rights as an employee under the Saudi Labor Law. You can access the English version of the law through the Ministry of Labor's website at www.mol.gov.sa/Services-Inquiry/LaboreLaw.aspx.

4. 🕉️ Engage Your Interviewer: If you feel comfortable, reach out to the person who interviewed you again, expressing your eagerness to start and politely inquiring about the expected timeline.

5. 💞 Seek Legal Advice: If the delay continues and you feel your rights are being compromised, you may want to consider seeking advice from a legal professional well-versed in Saudi labor laws.

Remember, the aim is to start your new job with all the necessary paperwork properly processed, ensuring a smooth transition.
