Hi, Once exit date is marked and PF claim is settled the same PF account cannot be used. The contractor should have allotted new PF number for the new credit.

The letter to the PF office should be from your employer (contractor) stating that the PF contribution was wrongly credited to the old closed account. Request them to transfer the money to the new PF account number. Since the contribution was incorrectly credited by the employer, they are supposed to write the letter, not you.
