Skill Matrix is a concept in which the list of key skills and competencies is mapped for the required level/desired level versus actual. This is a good tool to administer if you really want to develop employees to the required level/desired level/perfection level, etc., by suitable interventions of providing required technical skills. The objective and purpose need to be explained to the employees well in advance, and if it is done after enrolling them in the concept, then it will be successful. It can be applied to the banking sector as well. If you are a public sector bank, then there may be resistance from unions and associations that you might need to overcome for this good cause.
