I am working on a project about designing a Skill Matrix. Could any of you explain how to create a skill matrix for administration staff, marketing staff, production staff, and customer care staff? Dear Arul,

There are two types of skill matrices: the existing skill matrix and the desired skill matrix. To prepare the desired skill matrix, one should have job descriptions/position descriptions filled out by the job holder's superior. In this form, the superior will need to provide the skills required (desired and not currently possessed by the job holder) for the particular position. This may include age, qualifications, past experience required, type of industry experience, special knowledge, and any other requirements.

This information will be included in the desired skill matrix for positions within various departments.
