Hi all, I am a faculty member in the Department of Management, and I am about to write a paper for publication. As my specialization is HRM, I wish to write a paper on the impact of COVID on HR practices. Kindly suggest if it is a good topic and also the chances of collecting facts and details relevant to the topic.

Dear Vicree,
There is nothing like a good or bad topic for research. The quality of the research makes the paper good or bad.
Research Points on COVID-19 and HR Practices
Coming to your query, you can do research on the following points:
a) COVID-19 pandemic has forced employees to work from home. By working from home, has productivity increased, decreased, or remained the same?
b) Employees have started working from home. Has WFH increased the working hours? If yes, then by what percentage?
c) Has WFH reduced the privacy of work? Are family members or children getting unwanted exposure to office activities?
d) Because of WFH for a long time, is there weariness amongst employees? If yes, then what percentage of employees are happy to be working from home and how many are happy to work from the office?
e) Has the insurance facility benefited employees who suffered from COVID-19?
f) As employees suffered due to COVID-19, there could have been a discontinuity in operations. What impact did it cause on the operations?
g) Did the companies conduct any survey on the mental health of employees? If yes, then how did they do it? What steps did they take to improve their mental health?
h) Conflict is a part and parcel of the workplace. By working from home, has the conflict reduced, remained the same, or increased?
i) Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, companies are forced to do remote hiring. Has the recruitment methodology been changed or remained the same? In the absence of physical interaction, how do recruiting authorities read the body language of candidates?
k) How are companies managing employee training? What is the difference between classroom training and virtual training?
The above points may not be in the desired sequence; nevertheless, you can make a sequence as per choice. If you take me as a co-author, then we can work together.
Thanks,
Dinesh Divekar
