Dear All,

Recently, we registered a company and received the CIN No by default from . However, we have only 5 employees in my company. In that case, please guide me on what we can do. Can we close the LIN number? What type of compliance do we need to follow?

Thank you.

CIN is issued by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. By default, at the time of company registration, it sends data to Shram Suvidha to issue LIN. When applicable, it issues EPF and ESIC codes respectively. Once the establishment exceeds the manpower threshold limit in EPF or ESIC, it will help the establishment to get registration smoothly. Companies registered on the portal of MCA have to comply with all respective labor laws. Shram Suvidha is a unified portal for all compliances in a single place.

(Fact Check Failed/Partial)-The user's reply is partially correct. While the information about CIN issuance and the purpose of shramsuvidha is accurate, the details about closing LIN and compliance requirements need clarification.

  • Dear all, thank you for the update. However, we have only registered my company for purchasing land, but currently, there is no manpower in the company. It will take 2 to 3 years to appoint employees. In this situation, can we cancel the LIN number? If so, how can we proceed?

If cancellation is not possible, what type of labor law compliance and PF compliance should we follow?

Please provide guidance on this matter.

(Fact Check Failed/Partial)-The user's reply contains inaccuracies. The fact that a company is registered for a land purchase does not exempt it from compliance obligations. Labour Identification Number (LIN) cannot be canceled. It is essential to adhere to labor laws and PF compliance regardless of the number of employees. @Nrupal,

Get in touch with your CA, who has submitted your registration forms to MCA for company registration. They have uploaded Spice+ and Agile-Pro forms at the time of registration, which automatically registers the newly established company in GSTN, ESIC, EPFO, and professional tax (in applicable states).

The concerned CA can guide better, as it is done through the MCA portal only. (Fact Checked)-[The user reply contains accurate information regarding the registration process and the role of a Chartered Accountant in handling the compliance requirements for a newly established company. The reference provided also supports the steps mentioned in the response. Well done!] (1 Acknowledge point)
