Dear Colleagues,

If an employee who has worked for more than 12 years, from 2002 to 2015, resigns due to the closure of the establishment, but only receives the Provident Fund amount and not the pension amount when applying to their EPF A/C, can they now apply for the pension amount? In this case, the individual does not have a UAN, only a PF number. How can this claim be resolved?

Thank you.

For the service they have rendered, they need to collect a Scheme certificate and preserve it.

The following procedure could be adopted after attaining 58 years of age:

1) They have to furnish a self-declaration of a "Non-Employment Certificate."

2) They have to fill in Form 10-D - Application for Monthly Pension and sign the forms, which should be attested by their previous employer. In the absence of the employer, any Gazetted officer, including a bank manager, can attest to it.

3) Four copies of their family photo need to be submitted (their own and their spouse's).

4) All the above documents, a copy of the Aadhar card, a blank canceled cheque leaf, and the Scheme certificate in the original form shall be submitted to the nearest PF office or Sub-Regional Office of EPFO in their area.

Thanks.

As per my knowledge, to get a UAN number, contact the EPF office along with the PF number. They will provide the UAN. For the pension amount, one has to apply for a scheme certificate if their age is below 58. If the person's age is above 58, they have to apply for the pension, and then they will receive a certain amount (calculation based on their basic wage) every month.
