Hi, I need confirmation on behalf of your knowledge. My husband passed away 2 years ago. At that time, he was an employee in an IT company in Bangalore. After his death, the employer didn't provide any insurance details or death benefits to his family and they have repeatedly declined to provide the information. Now, I want to request the details again and ask for a settlement for his family.

My question is, if the employer fails again to provide the details of his death benefits, could I file a complaint in the consumer forum of Bangalore to obtain the information about the death benefits for his family? Please confirm if I am following the right course of action or if there is another way to get the details to make a claim.

For employment-related compensation, you can approach the labor commissioner of Bangalore city and not any consumer forum. Furthermore, seek the assistance of a legal practitioner in your area to claim compensation in connection with your husband's demise.
