Dear Ano,

What was the punishment? Is this employee a workman or a manager? The standing order does not provide for any punishment of financial penalty. There could be recovery based on the loss to the company's property due to his negligence and gross violation of established rules, subject to him giving his explanation in this regard, if any.

What is this unemplemented punishment? For what reason it was given? Fines can be imposed under the provisions of Payment of Wages Act. R R Kapoor Vadodara

Some states model SO and SO of some establishments provide fines as punishment. It is always ideal to deduct fines from the salary payable immediately after imposition. If a fine is imposed per POW Act, it cannot be deducted after 90 days.
