I have given an interview at Infosys Pune on 13th Oct 2018. After clearing my first technical round, they conducted my HR round. They informed me that I have been selected for the position. We discussed the annual package, job roles, and responsibilities. The HR mentioned that they would release my offer letter within a span of 2 weeks as they need approvals from everyone. However, they also mentioned that if any issues arise, they might reject the offer and inform me within the same time frame.

After 4-5 days, they contacted me again and requested me to send a signed declaration form via email. The form stated that I was not under any contract/bond or involved in any project/account related to Infosys Ltd through my previous employer, Vodafone, which is a client of Infosys. I promptly provided the signed declaration.

Since then, I have not received any communication from them. It has now been 2 weeks, and I have not received a rejection letter either. I am unsure whether I have been selected or not, or if my offer letter is still in progress. Is it normal for business approvals for offer letters to take this long? I have many thoughts and confusion in my mind. Can anyone help me with suggestions on how to proceed?

Dear friend,

Don't be panicked. Try to contact the respective HR who was in touch with you for an update. In the corporate world, many things are involved, and you have to bear with these. Have patience, be positive. How about your present employment? Have you resigned already? If yes, have you been relieved? Try to tie up these things so that the transition is smooth. Hope you will be provided with enough joining time. All the best.

Hi, I have just contacted the HR department. They are saying that your application is still under process and it is stuck in legal formalities because your previous company is Vodafone, which is a client for Infosys. According to policy, the company cannot hire from a client company. They also mentioned that we are neither rejecting you nor offering a position right now. HR even mentioned that as of now, they don't see any positive signs but they have received my declaration that I have not been associated with any account/project related to Infosys during my tenure.

Frankly, I left Vodafone 1 year ago and now I am working for a different company. Can anyone guide me on this? Is there any hope that I will receive an offer letter?

This is what you missed. You should have revealed the fact that every problem could have been averted. I don't know what made you withhold this. That means you didn't include this tenure with this present company as the immediate past experience.

How did you manage at the interview, telling them that you are still continuing in Vodafone? Think about whether you could now inform them of this fact and weigh the consequences. Take a careful study of the different situations beforehand before making any decision. In any case, the truth has to come out. There is no point in withholding any information about your profile.

@Kumar.S

No, you didn't get what I wanted to say. Actually, I have three years of experience with three companies (1 year each). I have listed all the experience in my resume. Out of which, my first company was Tata, the second was Vodafone, and now the third and current working company is Muscade. I worked with Vodafone from October 2016 to October 2017.

Recently, I have interviewed and been selected for Infosys, but they have a problem with my second company where I used to work two years ago just because it is their client company. Now, I am confused about whether they will send me an offer letter or not. Is there any exception made in such cases?

Got it, but this will depend on the current policy of Infosys. We have no say in this but to await their response. Hope for the best.

Hey, I am exactly in the same situation. Did you get the offer letter? I have sent them the signed document yesterday and am now waiting for the offer letter. I worked for one company, that too Ericsson, and I'm not sure if Ericsson is a client of Infosys since it's a product-based company.
