I joined an IT company on 7th October 2013 and left on 20th April 2018. Ideally, my last date was 15th June 2018, but HR granted early release with salary paid until 15th June 2018. Technically, I received salary from that company until June 15, 2018. Will I be eligible for gratuity as well?

Gratuity is paid when an employee reaches superannuation, retires, or resigns after completion of 5 years of continuous service. In case of the death of an employee or disablement due to accident or illness, continuous service of 5 years is not necessary to consider for gratuity payment.

Dear Anonymous,
Don't lose heart. You are still eligible to receive gratuity. Seek the assistance of someone knowledgeable in these matters and promptly file a claim with the company. If they do not respond, please write to the labor department, and your gratuity amount will be paid to you with their help.
