I have received the extended offer letter with salary breakdown last month. However, to date, they have not issued the offer letter. Can they cancel this extended offer? I called HR, and they informed me that the offer letter is pending approval. Additionally, my current employer's boss has found out that I may resign, and now he is pressuring me. I am unsure whether to resign from my current employment.

There is always a chance that the offer letter may get canceled. Job searches are always to be done discreetly. Your present employer has become doubtful of your interest to continue, which may impact you. You need to clarify with the new employer's HR department and interpret both what is being said and unsaid to make a decision. Do not let things linger unresolved. Remaining employed is always important.

There is nothing wrong or inappropriate in contacting the prospective employer and explain your situation and depending on the response you can decide the situation.

My advice is not to resign. You better devout fully in present job. Do not consider the call of the new employer as they do not have time schedule, the rest is up to you.
