One of my friends joined XXX company and served 2 years there before leaving to join YYY Company. In the previous company (XXX), his Aadhar was verified as SURNAME.NAME. In his current establishment, his Aadhar is verified as NAME.SURNAME. According to Aadhar records, his name is listed as SURNAME.NAME. However, when he attempts to transfer his previous PF account to his current one, it shows a details mismatch, preventing the transfer.
He attempted to use the "Modify Basic Details" option, but an error occurred stating that his Aadhar is already verified, therefore his details are not editable. Even after my own attempt to assist, the issue persists. Could anyone please suggest a solution to resolve this problem?

You should submit the name correction online by using the "modify basic details" option. However, if the online method doesn't work, you can also submit a joint declaration letter to the Regional PF Office along with valid document support for this purpose.

Sir, You need to correct your name as per adhar and bank account. In your case the correction is possible offline by filing your joint declaration supported with relevant documents. Regards

Before proceeding with name correction/change, please ensure that the name you change to is as per your school and university certificates. It is easy to change the name and other details in the Aadhar, but a change of name in your school leaving certificate and degree shall require gazette notification and other formalities. Therefore, if your name as per PF records matches the certificates, never change it but update the same in the Aadhar. Once the details in the Aadhar are changed, you can easily transfer or withdraw the PF. Remember, transferring funds from the old organization to the new one should not be rushed. Therefore, consider which name should be followed and then proceed accordingly.
