After working for 9 years since January 2006 as a permanent school teaching staff (librarian) under the Directorate of Education Department in Delhi, I resigned and joined a college in West Bengal. I properly tendered my resignation, which was accepted by the department six months ago. However, when I applied for gratuity and earned leave encashment, the school authority almost denied to pay. Now, please send me some documents related to this so that I can receive my gratuity soon.

Regarding gratuity, your school authority may not be aware of the Payment of Gratuity (Amendment) Act 2009, which made teaching staff in all unaided educational institutions eligible for gratuity payment with retrospective effect from 1997.
